A traditional Chinese painting exhibition opened on Nov 2 at the Rugao Cultural Museum in Rugao, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province.

Over 200 representatives from the local government and cultural institutes attended the opening ceremony. Exhibits include more than 70 ink-wash paintings by native artist Xu Wei.

Xu graduated from the Nantong University of the Arts and is currently a professor at the Art School of Nantong University. Most of his works feature lotus leaves, pine trees, birds, and roosters.

According to organizers, the exhibition will end on Nov 12.
