Chongchuan opens largest greenhouse in Nantong
A greenhouse recently opened in the northeastern section of the Nantong Botanical Garden in Chongchuan district, Nantong, Jiangsu province.
The greenhouse, which covers 3,700 square meters and has a height of 20 m, is the largest in the city.
A total of three exhibition areas are included in the greenhouse, showcasing tropical rainforests, psammophytes, and flowers.
Dozens of rare tropical plants in Nantong grow in the tropical rainforest zone, along with several landscape elements, such as paths, bridges and rock formations.
Many succulent plants and cactuses are featured in the psammophyte zone, some of which are very large.
The flower zone is combined with other two zones, and visitors can buy flowers and potted plants in the DIY experiential area.
A science popularization service is also provided through multimedia to introduce information about displayed plants. The popularization time is from 9:00 am to 10:00 am and from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm during the trial operation.
"The greenhouse integrates plant cultivation, scientific research, and popular science tourism and is free to enter," said a staff member of the Nantong Botanical Garden.
