A signing ceremony was held in the Rugao Economic and Technological Development Zone in Rugao, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, on Sept 10.

Agreements on 17 projects worth 15.6 billion yuan ($2.21 billion) were signed at the ceremony. The projects involved new energy vehicles, high-end robotics, modern services, and more.

Over the years, the Rugao Economic and Technological Development Zone has put a lot of focus on improving its business environment and attracting investment. In the first half of this year, the zone optimized its investment procedures and sought to introduce more investment.

Ma Jinhua, deputy secretary of the zone's Party working committee, said that the newly-signed projects are of high quality and will contribute much to the zone's development.

The zone plans to improve its services to attract more investment, Ma added.
