An urban management services station for the convenience of people recently went into use in Rugao, a county-level city in Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province, and officials said it is the first of its kind in the metropolis.

Located on the north side of Zhongshan Road, the services station covers an area of around 20 square meters and is divided into three sections, namely an office area, a leisure area and the services area.

Services -- such as consultation, complaints handling, case handling and the publicity of laws -- are provided in the office area. Digitalized technology is also applied at the station, to conduct real-time monitoring of key roads.

The leisure area and the services area provide residents -- especially city management staff and sanitation workers -- with a place to take a rest, read some books, wash their hands, heat food with microwave ovens and borrow umbrellas.

It aims to provide more convenience for residents and improve administrative efficiency, according to officials.
