A workshop for making moon cakes with lotus seeds was held in Yongxing Huayuan community in Gangzha district, Nantong on Sept 5.
Local Party members and retirees took part in the activity, making moon cakes for people in need, including seniors without children and Party members in bad health.
In Chinese, lotus is pronounced similarly to “uncorrupted”, so the activity was aimed not just at celebrating the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, but also to remind people of the importance of clean governance.
