The city is facing great opportunities brought about by the Belt and Road Initiative and the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region, he added.
Liu told the attendees that Chongchuan, as the downtown area of Nantong, enjoyed the city's geographical advantages and prime industrial resources.
He invited academics and entrepreneurs to come work in Chongchuan, pledging that the local government would spare no effort in improving its services for companies and workers, to create a sound business and living environment.
A total of 11 commercial agreements were signed between the district government and Beijing-based companies and institutes at the conference.
