The Rugao section of the National Highway 204 (G204) was honored as "the most beautiful highway in Nantong", according to a recent selection by the Nantong transportation department.

G204 is an important highway along the Yellow Sea in Jiangsu province. Around 28,000 vehicles travel on it every day.

In recent years, Rugao has invested 4.8 million yuan ($680,291) into greening its section of the highway in order to meet the Ministry of Transport's standards for "beautiful highways".
