Cultural relics from Falun Temple -- including two ancient stone carvings -- were recently transported to Chongfu Temple in Chongchuan district, Nantong, in eastern Jiangsu province, the Nantong Daily reported on June 9.
Preservation and research work has already started and an exhibition of these cultural relics is also planned, according to the local cultural and tourism bureau.
Falun Temple, built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), was located in the downtown area of Nantong. It used to be one of the top three temples in Jiangsu province but was demolished in 2011 to make way for urban construction.
All the cultural relics have been collected by the cultural and tourism bureau of Chongchuan district.
