Chongchuan district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province has met with success in attracting a raft of investment from Shanghai -- with 14 commercial agreements signed between the district government and Shanghai-based companies on April 24.

The approved projects covered various areas, including the internet of things, software service outsourcing, big data and medical equipment.

Nantong was one of the first 14 coastal cities to open up in the country and it has shown dynamic momentum in social and economic growth, according to Liu Hao, Party secretary of the district.

He told a promotions conference in Shanghai that Chongchuan, as the downtown area of Nantong, enjoys the city's best industrial resources and has won national recognition for its living and business environment.

Liu pledged that the local government would spare no effort to improve its services for companies and investors.

This year, the district government has organized a series of promotional activities in major cities across the country, including Beijing and Shenzhen, and has achieved excellent results, officials said.
