Chongchuan raises awareness of protecting birds
A conservation promotional event to raise children's awareness of the need to protect birds will take place in Chongchuan district, Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, from May 16 to 26.
A selection of bird specimens will go on display, with staff from Nantong Museum explaining the diversity of wild birds that inhabit the region around Nantong and the importance of bird protection.
The activity will also include handicraft sessions, where children will be taught to shape lumps of clay into figures of birds.
The annual activity has been organized by the Nantong Museum at schools and communities since 2008 and it has reportedly been well-received by local residents.
