Seminar on technological growth opens in Gangzha
A seminar on how science and technology professionals serve regional development was held in Gangzha district, Nantong city, March 30.
The seminar consisted of a themed report, case sharing, field trips, and group discussions on the construction of a professional innovation center, with more than 60 scientific and technological professionals and 80 tech company representatives from around the district in attendance.
Four experts from Zhejiang University, the University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beika Tech Co, and the Institute of Process Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Sciences discussed some typical examples of scientific and technological personnel training and services, as well as the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements.
Experts in attendance released their scientific research results and interacted with entrepreneurs from Gangzha district during four group discussions on electronic information, advanced manufacturing, new materials, resources and the environment, new energy, and biomedicine.
In recent years, Gangzha district has been enacting policies to encourage the growth of technology service companies and to support the construction of new research and development institutions with a goal of creating a regional demonstration zone for intellectual property development in Jiangsu province.
The district has accelerated the construction of innovation carriers and incubators such as the Gangzha Economic Development Zone, Shibei High-Tech Park, and the Leading Scientific and Technological Professional Innovation Center, and has been focusing on fostering intelligent manufacturing and electronic information industries.
As a result, the district now has one state-level tech company incubator, two national mass-creation carriers, eight provincial technology incubators, eight provincial mass-creation carriers, 28 provincial engineering technology research centers, three provincial academic workstations, 31 provincial postgraduate workstations, and over 50 research institutes at the provincial-level and above.
