Gangzha district in Nantong city, East China's Jiangsu province, was recognized as one of China's top 100 districts for innovation in 2019, according to a recent list released by the National Science and Technology Society for the Revitalization of City Economy and stdaily.com of Science and Technology Daily. 

The district ranked 76th on the list, following the other two districts in Nantong – Tongzhou (30th) and Chongchuan (64th).

The evaluation was based on the number of public patents filed in the district, including for inventions, utility models and designs between 2009 and 2018.
