Rugao in East China's Jiangsu province is pulling out all the stops to attract highly-skilled professionals to the city.

Local authorities have recently improved preferential policies for workers, and improved public services and government platforms.

For eligible individuals moving to the city, Rugao offers salary top-ups and help with the cost of buying a house and educating children.

The policies also offer incentives to newly-recognized national and provincial-level key laboratories and R&D centers, as well as promote cooperation with key universities in the province, encouraging top professionals to work in Rugao.

The city is also working to offer unique services for skilled workers, such as organizing seminars for entrepreneurs and people with doctorates, as well as building dedicated apartments for them, improving both their living and working environment.
