An exhibition featuring some of the best paintings and calligraphy works created by artists from Chongchuan district, Nantong, kicked off at the Nantong Central Art Gallery on Dec 25.

A seminar to discuss some of the work on display took place immediately after the opening ceremony.

The district is known for its association with a number of famous artists, including Li Fangying, Zhao Wuji, You Wuqu, Fan Zeng, Yuan Yunpu and Yuan Yunsheng.

More than 100 pieces depicting scenes inspired by the local area, including of its industry and culture are on display to the public. A total of 91 artists have contributed work to the exhibition. 

The whole exhibition will last nine days, closing on Jan 3, 2019.
