The successes with silkworms have paved the way for Hai’an to develop related industries. The county has formed a comprehensive production and operation system, covering silkworm breeding, cocoon collection and drying, reeling, and spinning, as well as production of silk clothes and home textiles.

Home to 52 silk deep processing companies, Hai’an has the most complete industrial chain for cocoon silk production and processing in China.

In addition to world-class silk companies, Hai’an is also famous for silk garments and quilts.
