International journalists tour NETDA
Journalists from 12 countries and regions visited the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area on Oct 14 and 15.
The visit was part of the "Global Southern Countries' Journalists Explore China" reporting tour, aimed at learning about NETDA's smart manufacturing and international dining and leisure spots.

The delegation took part in an exchange event at PorpHarbor, a high-end, Munich-style craft beer restaurant. Lydia, a reporter with Malaysia's The Star, said locals are dedicated to their work and also know how to enjoy life. She described the local economy as vibrant.
At the event, she learned that WEG, the Brazilian parent of WEG (Nantong) Electric Motor Manufacturing, also has operations in Malaysia. WEG's plant in NETDA is the company's first motor manufacturing base in the Asia-Pacific region.
Lucas, product engineering manager at the plant, said local government services were proactive and efficient, helping companies resolve potential problems in advance.
The next day, the delegation visited Luolai Smart Industrial Park, where automated factories and fully digitized production processes drew praise. Chayathip Lojanakosin, a Thai financial news anchor, livestreamed the visit and teamed up with a local host for a live sales session featuring home products. She also wrote her name and "I love Nantong" on a piece of silk fabric.
