Haimen's first grid-side storage project selected for major provincial list
A 150-megawatt (MW), 300-megawatt-hour (MWh) energy storage project in Haimen district, Nantong, has been selected for the 2026 list of Jiangsu's major energy storage projects, marking the district's first such facility to receive the designation.
The project is based on a total investment of 500 million yuan ($73.85 million) by Xinlyu Energy Technology. It covers about 16,667 square meters, with a building area of 468 sq m.
Using lithium iron phosphate technology, the project features new transformers, prefabricated battery cabins, and power conversion system (PCS) step-up equipment. Once operational, the storage system will connect to the regional transmission grid, enabling it to provide frequency regulation and peak-shaving services to stabilize the grid.
The facility is expected to derive revenue from peak-shaving services and capacity leasing, while facilitating the integration of local renewable energy.

By the end of June 2026, Haimen had 842.2 MW of renewable-energy capacity, of which solar photovoltaic (PV) accounted for 833.2 MW. In the first half, the district generated 363 million kilowatt-hours of renewable electricity, with PV supplying 352 million kWh.
