A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the advanced materials project for new energy vehicles in Haimen Economic and Technological Development Zone on May 6. 

The project, invested in by Nantong Hengjin Composite Materials, will cover an area of 127 mu (8.47 hectares) with a total investment of 1 billion yuan ($147.02 million). The project involves the construction of a high-end aluminum rolling mill production line, aimed at creating a smart, digital and green modern factory. 

Production is expected to commence in 2027, and once fully operational, the factory's annual sales are projected to exceed 7 billion yuan. 

As a national high-tech enterprise, Nantong Hengjin Composite Materials has been rooted in the area for 30 years and has integrated into the supply chains of globally renowned companies such as Tesla and BYD.
