Qidong makes achievements in development and construction of coastline
Located at the intersection of the Yangtze River, the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea, Qidong, a county-level city of Nantong, Jiangsu province, has been ramping up efforts to enhance its 178-kilometer coastline.

Located in the eastern part of Qidong Yuantuojiao Resort, Evergrande Venice is among the key projects along the coastline. The project, which covers 9,000 mu (600 hectares), is expected to feature a coastal resort complex that integrates hotels with facilities for conferences, sports, culture and health. More than 20 billion yuan ($3.13 billion) in investments have been channeled into the project to date.
The Venice Hotel, international conference center, food center, sports center, and children's amusement center have already opened to the public.

Another project under construction is the 38.89-billion-yuan Dehui Haisu Bay eco-tourism project which aims to become an innovative model for coastal ecological tourism and vacation in the region around Shanghai.
To improve the ecological environment along the coastline, Qidong has over the past few years carried out treatment of off-shore sewage outlets, repaired damaged coastlines, standardized mariculture, and cleaned up the coastline.
Qidong now boasts a number of tourist attractions along the coastline, such as a 12-km Jianghai Cultural Viewing Avenue that integrates Yangtze culture with sightseeing, the Golden Beach, and the Bihai Yinsha Scenic Area.
