Yuantuojiao Resort in Qidong, Nantong is being built into an experiential base of Jianghai culture and an ecological resort base at the estuary of Yangtze River, following the style of provincial-level resorts and the standards of national-level tourist resorts.

The resort will integrate eco-tourism, sports and leisure, popular science education, meetings and exhibitions, as well as vacation and accommodation facilities.

Yuantuojiao is located at the intersection of the Yangtze River, the Yellow Sea, and the East China Sea. It boasts abundant wetlands and the 12-kilometer Jianghai Culture Viewing Avenue, which connects tourist spots in the resort, such as Golden Beach Scenic Area, Bihai Yinsha Scenic Area, as well as Fisherman's Wharf.

The development of Yuantuojiao into a rural tourism destination is part of Nantong's rural revitalization strategy. The city is currently home to three key national rural tourism villages, eight key provincial rural tourism villages, as well as more than 100 rural tourism areas of all varieties.

Rural tourism has become a key industry to promote rural economic development, increasing farmers' employment and incomes.
