Qidong's specialties promoted through livestream
In a bid to promote the cultural resources, characteristic enterprises and local specialties from different regions of Nantong, the publicity department of the Nantong municipal Party committee and other departments related to culture, tourism and commerce jointly launched a series of livestream activities.
The special one for Qidong was hosted on July 9. Shao Maohua, director of Qidong's publicity department, promoted local industries and farm products through the livestream.
The richly varied selected goods and services include tourism, e-sports, agricultural products and seafood, and meet the demands of different-aged consumers. The two-hour livestream attracted about 360,000 viewers at peak time and received orders valued at over 60,000 yuan ($8,575).
The travel packages of the Golden Beach scenic area were in great demand. Lyusi seafood, rice from Dongjuan farmland and Mige rice wine were also popular among the viewers.
Yu Dongjuan, a female national model worker, operates a family farm. Its rice sells well in Nantong and surrounding cities like Shanghai. Yu hoped to enhance the influence of Dongjuan rice and form a brand effect through the livestream.
