Golden Beach, located in Qidong, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has been promoted to a national 4A-level scenic spot, according to an announcement by the provincial department of culture and tourism on Dec 19.

Nantong is currently home to 10 national 4A and 5A-level scenic spots, including the Haohe River scenic area (5A), Langshan scenic resort (4A), Seyuan Garden (4A), Rugao Shuihui Garden (4A), Zhou Ji Green Expo Garden (4A), and China Dearshiqiao International Home Textiles (4A).

Golden Beach sits at the easternmost tip of Jiangsu province and has the earliest sunrise in the province, with the sun beginning to rise at five o'clock.

The beach covers an area of 133 hectares and offers a dazzling array of attractions, including a whale science museum, an off-road riding center, and houseboats.
