A centralized signing ceremony for the annual production project of 160,000 metric tons of polyphenylene sulfide and the annual production project of 50,000 tons of high-end polyurethane material, took place on May 6.

Both will be settled in the Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone in Rudong county, Jiangsu province.

Polyphenylene sulfide is the most widely used variety in special engineering plastics, with excellent properties such as high temperature resistance, radiation resistance, and high flame retardancy.

The polyphenylene sulfide project, operated by Jiangsu Dongtai Qixin Technology, will be constructed in two phases, with a first-phase investment totaling 1.6 billion yuan ($235.17 million).

Costing 200 million yuan, the polyurethane material project will focus on the production of water-based polyurethane coatings, boasting advantages such as safe flame retardancy and green low-carbon. It is an ideal upgraded alternative material for traditional solvent-based polyurethane.
