In the Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone in Rudong, Nantong, construction sites are bustling with activity as multiple major industrial projects move forward at full speed, signaling strong momentum in the port's high-quality development.

Among the key projects, the Yongda heavy equipment production base, with a total investment of 1.1 billion yuan ($153.12 million), is rapidly taking shape. According to project head Qian Kun, the base will specialize in large-scale chemical equipment and achieve an annual output of over 60,000 metric tons. Once fully operational, it is expected to generate 1.1 billion yuan in annual taxable sales.

The Far East Cable subsea cable project is also making strides. Its core facility, the VCV vertical tower, is undergoing trial production. Once the adjacent steel structure plant is completed, the site will produce up to 2,000 km of fiber optic composite cables and 6,000 km of high-performance optical submarine cables annually.

Meanwhile, Golden Hongye Paper is operating at full capacity with 800 workers and 24 paper machines, reaching a daily output of 1,600 tons. Jiatong Energy, another anchor enterprise, maintains over 20,000 tons of daily PTA and polyester output, aiming for 38 billion yuan in annual production.

Innovation continues at Xingi Tech, where ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibers — 15 times stronger than steel — are being developed for use in robotics, drones, and wind energy.

Yangkou Port's aggressive investment promotion strategy is also paying off. So far this year, teams have conducted over 150 outreach events, securing four major industrial projects worth over 500 million yuan each, along with several tech and service-sector contracts.

Yangkou Port is rapidly evolving into a strategic hub for advanced manufacturing and new materials, fueled by strong project execution and proactive industrial engagement.
