To help children of migrant workers grow with confidence, a themed speech contest titled "Let Me Tell You About My Hometown" was recently held at Yangkou Port Experimental Primary School in Rudong county, Nantong, Jiangsu province.

In heartfelt speeches, the young participants shared vivid memories of their hometowns and painted colorful verbal portraits of the unique landscapes they came from. Through their words, classmates in their new home were taken on a journey across China — from the spicy charm of Chongqing's bustling streets to the majestic symphony of the Wumeng Mountains and Jinsha River in Yunnan; from the storied salt heritage of Zigong in Sichuan, to the ancient coastal glow of Quanzhou in Fujian.

Their fluency, confidence, and emotional storytelling won wave after wave of applause from the audience, turning the event into a celebration of cultural diversity and shared community.
