The Nantong Chamber of Commerce, affiliated with the China Chamber of International Commerce, established its first overseas liaison office at the UAE Shanghai General Chamber of Commerce and Fellow Townsmen Association on May 27 to deepen international economic and trade cooperation.
Established in 2019, the UAE Shanghai General Chamber of Commerce and Fellow Townsmen Association is dedicated to promoting economic and trade activities, fostering collaboration between China and Arab countries. The chamber has become an influential overseas organization in the Middle East region. As a prominent overseas leader from Nantong, Cheng Fuqiang, chairman of the organization, has made significant contributions over the years to economic and trade exchanges between Nantong and the UAE.
The liaison office is expected to serve as a platform for investment attraction, overseas investment, international commercial legal services, and a new channel for Nantong enterprises to expand into global markets.
The Nantong Chamber of Commerce is expected to establish more overseas liaison offices in Europe, America, Japan, South Korea, and countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, building a global economic and trade service network.
