The construction site of the wharf for the Jiangsu Guoxin Rudong LNG terminal, located on the north side of Sunshine Island, is alive with activity. With piling work now completed, the project is expected to be ready for inspection and handover by the end of August.
The wharf project, which officially began construction in July 2023, is designed to accommodate liquefied natural gas vessels ranging from 80,000 to 266,000 cubic meters in capacity. The berth will be 410 meters long and is expected to handle up to 6.5 million tons of LNG annually.
With a total investment of 7.5 billion yuan ($103.53 million), the Jiangsu Guoxin Rudong LNG terminal is a key provincial-level infrastructure project tasked with strengthening Jiangsu's natural gas reserves.
Behind the steady progress lies the determination and innovation of the construction team. Despite challenges such as harsh weather, large tidal differences, and a complex surrounding navigation environment, the project has achieved breakthroughs and stayed on schedule through adaptive and efficient strategies.
