This year, the Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone has accelerated the construction of port infrastructure, achieving significant progress on several major industrial support projects. The steadily enhanced port functions are opening up new opportunities for the port's industrial growth.

The W1# berth at Jinniu Wharf, a 50,000-ton general-purpose facility primarily serving the Far East Cable project, recently passed its water engineering inspection. Located in the shallow coastal waters near Yangkou Port and next to the industrial zone, Jinniu Wharf is expected to feature 13 berths, each with a capacity of 50,000 metric tons.

Two additional berths (N1 and N2) will cater to enterprises such as APP, Tongkun, Jusheng Heavy Industry, Yongda Equipment, and Yada Pipeline. These berths are expected to be operational by the end of September 2025.

Since its establishment in 2011, Sunshine Island, a vital global gateway for Yangkou Port, has built three functional wharfs and eight berths capable of accommodating international vessels. The PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal on the artificial island has handled over 60 million tons of LNG from 26 countries and regions, supporting more than one-third of Jiangsu province's natural gas supply annually.

To accommodate increasing industrial activity, Yangkou Port has invested in the construction of the Yellow Sea Second Bridge. With a total investment of 1.27 billion yuan ($174 million), the bridge spans 10.04 kilometers and features a deck width of 13.1 meters.

Aiming to further enhance its business environment, Yangkou Port plans to build a dedicated heavy-duty transport corridor to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable logistics services for enterprises. "The construction drawings are complete, and the project will be finished by September next year, ensuring uninterrupted production for enterprises," said Xu Tanghao, deputy director of the Yangkou Port Economic Development Zone Administrative Committee.

This year, the zone has invested 1 billion yuan in the building of 19 roads to create an interconnected transportation network. To date, 10 roads have been completed and are ready for use, with another nine slated for development next year.
