Fedor Litke, a liquefied natural gas (LNG) transport vessel carrying 168,000 cubic meters of LNG, docked at the PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal at Yangkou Port in Rudong, Jiangsu province on Aug 13. This marks the 43rd LNG import vessel received by the Jiangsu LNG Terminal this year.

The terminal, which started operating in May 2011, has unloaded LNG vessels from 25 countries and regions worldwide, including Russia, Peru, and Qatar. Among them, 70 percent came from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

Serving as a critical national project, the terminal is PetroChina's first operational LNG reception terminal, as well as the first and largest facility of its kind in the province.

After years of continuous expansion, the terminal now boasts six LNG storage tanks with a total capacity of 1.08 million cubic meters. In 2022, the terminal achieved a milestone by surpassing 10 billion cubic meters of natural gas transshipment.

The terminal has been operating at full capacity in recent years. It can hold up to 670 million cubic meters of natural gas, ensuring a continuous gas supply for 23 million households during winter peak demand. Throughout the year, it can satisfy one-third of Jiangsu's natural gas needs.

Since its inception, the terminal has delivered over 72 billion cubic meters of natural gas, benefiting nearly 200 million people in the Yangtze River Delta and surrounding regions.
