Nineteen projects were presented, spanning areas such as optical sensors, industrial multimodal large models, and deep-sea wind power operation and maintenance. An award went to a project on 3D collaborative liquid cooling for high-heat-flux AI chips.

Zhang Quan, a member of NETDA's Party Working Committee, said the cooperation between Nantong and Shanghai is not simply a case of industrial relocation but a careful division of labor in which Shanghai drives innovation and Nantong handles production.

He added that Nantong, with its trillion-yuan ($149.12-billion) economy, wide-ranging applications and full-cycle support, will help Shanghai-based AI companies set up operations and grow.

In addition, Xu Wenbo, technical lead at Shanghai Tegao Information Technology, discussed trends in the intelligent economy driven by large language models. Drawing on NETDA's industrial landscape, he outlined AI use cases, industry challenges and future strategic direction.
