German biopharma delegation visits NETDA

A delegation of German biopharmaceutical innovation entrepreneurs paid an investment visit to Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area from May 28 to 29.
The delegation brings together 22 leading institutions and benchmark enterprises across Europe, covering the entire biopharmaceutical industry chain — from innovative drug research and development and high-end medical devices to rehabilitation medicine and other cutting-edge life science sectors.
During their stay in Nantong, the delegation visited the Nantong Planning Exhibition Hall and the NETDA Biopharmaceutical Science and Technology Innovation Park, followed by field trips to three local benchmark enterprises: NOVAST, Joy Glory Pharmaceutical and Sirius Medtech.
Through these visits, the delegation acquired an in-depth understanding of the urban development, business environment, and spatial organization of Nantong's biopharmaceutical sector. They experienced firsthand the extensive industrial support facilities offered by NETDA, recognized the robust innovation ecosystem and assessed the dynamic growth trajectory of the life and health industry in the region.
A China-Germany Life Science Innovation Development Exchange Forum was also held during the event.
Over 20 key local biopharmaceutical enterprises, including Merck, Bayer, Siegfried, and NOVAST, attended the exchange meeting. They held in-depth discussions with the German delegation on a range of key topics, including technological R&D, achievement transformation, international market expansion, regulatory compliance services and the co-construction of industrial chain supporting facilities.
As Nantong's core hub for German cooperation, NETDA has already attracted more than 20 German-funded enterprises. Biopharmaceuticals is one of the leading industrial sectors in NETDA, where a complete industrial chain covering R&D, pilot testing and large-scale industrialization has been established.
