Nantong Xingdong International Airport in Jiangsu province, which began operating in 1993, welcomed its 4 millionth passenger of the year on Dec 21, an all-time high.

A Nantong resident named Xu Junqing, who was on a business trip to Beijing, was the lucky passenger, and Nantong airport presented him with a commemorative certificate and flowers to celebrate the occasion.

"Today was unexpected and very lucky. I often fly out from the airport, and it's always a very convenient experience. Here's wishing our airport will continue to soar to new heights," he said.

Since the beginning of this year, Nantong airport has been focusing on satisfying diverse passenger needs and vigorously developing its core aviation business.

Domestically, the airport has prioritized key periods such as the Spring Festival travel rush and the summer travel season, implementing schedule changes and increasing domestic flights to numerous cities, including Wuhan, Xi'an, and Chengdu. Internationally, it has resumed flights to Nha Trang, Macao, Jeju, and Osaka, and opened new routes to Phnom Penh, Vientiane, and other four cities.

With an increasing number of flights, the airport has significantly improved its services. It provides fast transit services for transfer passengers, offering "one-time check-in, one-time security check, seamless travel, and luggage through-check" services, expecting to serve 71,000 such passengers throughout the year.

The airport has also introduced security service boxes, added luggage storage facilities, launched an "urgent passenger channel", upgraded bilingual services at counters, and other services.
