NETDA designated as pilot zone for future industry development
The Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) has recently been approved as a pilot zone for future industry development in the deep-sea sector within Jiangsu province.
As announced by the Jiangsu Development and Reform Commission, this pilot initiative is part of the "Pilot Zones for Future Industry Development" program that includes 21 designated areas. This initiative in Jiangsu aims to strategically develop a series of future industry clusters with significant core competitiveness. NETDA is the sole region in Nantong selected for this endeavor.
At the beginning of the century, NETDA capitalized on its location advantage along the Yangtze River to establish a strong presence in the shipbuilding and marine engineering industry. Over more than two decades of development, the area has attracted a cluster of key enterprises, including ZTT Submarine Cable.
In 2023, the deep-sea industry in NETDA achieved an output value exceeding 27.4 billion yuan ($3.86 billion).
