Authorities in the Nantong Economical and Technological Development Area in East China's Jiangsu province held a cloth-dyeing training session for residents with disabilities on May 11.
Ni Shenjian, deputy curator of the area's Cloth Dyeing Museum, gave a history lesson on cloth-dyeing and its procedures during the class.
Shan Wenyi, who attended the class, said that it helped him gain a better understanding of the folk craft and taught him how to dye cloth.
Chen Xiaowei, a staff member of NETDA's disabled person's federation, said that she hopes the training session will help people with disabilities find jobs or start businesses.
Cloth-dyeing, a traditional folk craft, was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage item in 2006.
