Construction on two offshore wind power facilities started in Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) in East China's Jiangsu province on March 27.

One facility is a 1,600-ton offshore wind power installation platform, which measures 123.95 meters in length, 48 meters in width, and 9.5 meters in height.

The platform, which is expected to have an endurance of up to 3,000 nautical miles (5,556 kilometers), can carry two 12-MW wind turbines and large pile foundation. It will be able to meet the demands of deep-sea integrated offshore wind power operations.

The other facility is a 3,600-ton revolving floating crane that will be used for piling, the installation of offshore wind power facilities, as well as the hoisting and installation of marine structures.

The construction of the two ships will play a significant role in promoting the intelligent upgrading and green transformation of NETDA's high-end equipment industrial chain.

They will also be key to optimizing offshore wind power operations and advancing the healthy development of the offshore wind power industry.
