NETDA makes significant economic achievements in 2022

The comprehensive bonded zone in Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA), East China's Jiangsu province made remarkable economic achievements in 2022. 

Its imports and exports totaled 17.9 billion yuan ($2.65 billion) last year, accounting for 5 percent of the city's total, official statistics show. 

The 10.5-billion-yuan photovoltaic module research and development base, which is expected to generate an annual output of more than 45 billion yuan, was launched in the zone.

The zone is currently home to cross-border e-commerce giants like Tmall, Douyin, Kuaishou, Pinduoduo and Meituan, with the imports by these platforms amounting to 290 million yuan in 2022.

The actual use of foreign capital in the zone in 2022 was $270 million, accounting for 7.5 percent of the city's total.

Imports and exports of the zone’s high-tech products were valued at 13.5 billion yuan, accounting for 20 percent of the city's total.

Fifteen invention patents were added in the zone last year, while its investment in research and development totaled 140 million yuan, up 74 percent year-on-year.
