The Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) in East China's Jiangsu province has been making efforts in recent years to boost technology innovation and entrepreneurship.

For example, NETDA had earlier this year rolled out new policies to provide more support for projects and enterprises related to technology innovation.

The area has offered over 25 million yuan ($3.7 million) in funding to more than 50 hi-tech companies since implementing the new policies, official statistics show.

NETDA has also been ramping up efforts to cultivate hi-tech enterprises to promote the development of its pillar industries such as new-generation information technology, high-end equipment, medical care and new energy.

The area is presently home to 215 hi-tech firms and 45 innovation projects were launched in NETDA in the first half of this year.

NETDA has implemented a series of measures, including holding road shows and establishing platforms to advance exchanges between government departments, enterprises and universities, to attract more high-caliber talents.

More than 90 top talents who hold master's degrees or above signed agreements this year to work in NETDA.

The area is also striving to improve its business environment to provide better services for enterprises and entrepreneurs.
