Nantong Hairma Technology eyes low-carbon production
Hairma (Nantong) Technology Co Ltd – which is located in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area or NETDA, in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – is a company specializing in production and sales of oleochemicals.
These are chemicals derived from plant and animal fats. They are analogous to petrochemicals derived from petroleum.
The company has been focusing on the intelligent transformation of its workshops for many years. In its workshops there are no busy workers, no rolling production lines, and no deafening machines.
"Most of our production lines are fully automated and we only have about 80 employees in the plant," explained Ouyang Keting, head of the enterprise.
He said Hairma uses a large amount of funds for equipment updates, as well as product research and development. "We have never been stingy with our investment in research and development, which is the main reason why the enterprise has become a leader in the industry," he said.
Now, the enterprise has been granted 11 invention patents.
In addition, Hairma has been consistently using green raw materials to achieve ecological and environmentally friendly production.
"Plasticizers made from petroleum on the market contain benzene, a carcinogen," he said – adding that through the company's years of R&D, the bio-based plasticizers extracted from soybean oil can be used instead of petrochemical products.
Moving forward, the company will focus on safety and environmental protection for its bio-based materials to contribute to China's dual carbon goals – peaking carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality before 2060.
