With the easing of the COVID-19 outbreak in Nantong city in East China, the Nantong Development Zone Experimental Primary School – located in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area, or NETDA – resumed classes on May 5.
At the school's Xinhe campus, 3,000 students went to school to take a nucleic acid test on May 4, to be prepared for the resumption of class the next day. Led by their teachers, the huge groups of students took the test in an orderly manner.

After the test, thorough disinfections were carried out in the school's playground, classrooms, offices, canteens and washrooms in order to provide a safe environment for everyone.
In addition, to help students make a smooth transition from studying at home to campus, the school designed a special class integrating epidemic prevention knowledge and psychological counseling on the first day.
