The Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area, or NETDA – located in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – is gearing up to boost the supervision of its key roads.

On April 20, Bao Delin, director of the NETDA's management committee, went to the area's command center for social governance to supervise and guide epidemic prevention and control work at its key traffic hubs.

He stressed that departments must continue to strengthen their epidemic prevention and controls at traffic checkpoints and areas around expressways – building an efficient defensive line monitoring and controlling imported goods.

It was necessary to effectively boost the emergency response and broad response capacity of the transport sector in area, he added.

Video surveillance systems were recently installed at expressways, toll stations and other key roads to supervise the pedestrian flows and traffic flows.

Electronic fences were erected at key positions to establish precise risk prevention and control measures and to ensure timely warnings.
