During the critical period in the fight against COVID-19, the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area, or NETDA – located in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – spared no effort in paving the way for the smooth and safe operation of its manufacturers and ensuring the area itself remained up and running.
The NETDA adopted smart supervision systems to carry out remote online monitoring of key facilities and equipment, such as construction sites, port storage sites and transport vehicles.
On April 8, at a construction site that was in a strict epidemic control area, 450 staff members and construction workers there faced a food shortage. After the NETDA's administration heard about it, arrangements were immediately made for the personnel to buy food and other daily necessities and have them delivered to the site.
The NETDA has also launched a raft of measures recently to assist local residents to overcome various difficulties during the current COVID-19 outbreak.
