Nantong-made antigen test kit to hit domestic market

Nantong Egens Biotechnology Co Ltd, company that is resident in the Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area – located in Nantong city, in East China's Jiangsu province – develops, manufactures and distributes diagnostic kits worldwide.

The COVID-19 antigen testing kits produced by Egens were being shipped to overseas markets as early as one and a half years ago.

In the wake of China's recent approval of COVID-19 antigen testing as a supplementary means to improve early detection, the company has submitted registration applications to the National Medical Products Administration. As a result, its antigen test kits are expected to be launched onto the domestic market soon.

In the second half of 2020, Egens successfully developed diagnostic kits for COVID-19. In November 2020, the products were launched and exported to Germany, Brazil, Indonesia and other overseas markets, with an average annual sales volume of 50 million sets.

It is understood that there are more than 400 COVID-19 diagnostic products registered in the European Union and Egens ranked 11th in diagnostic efficiency, with an accuracy of over 90 percent.
