Nantong development area partners up with UCSI University

The Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area, or NETDA – located in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – recently held a video meeting with UCSI University, situated in Malaysia, with the two parties reaching a cornerstone agreement to work together in various fields.

Under the accord UCSI University, based in Malaysia's capital of Kuala Lumpur, will establish a talent exchange center in the NETDA – cooperating with local universities, colleges and top enterprises – to train top professionals.

The NETDA is encouraging high-quality projects from the Malaysian university to come to the area. Moreover, the two parties will build a research institute there.

Cross-border cooperation between enterprises, universities and research institutes was also emphasized during the meeting and UCSI University was encouraged to forge links and work with businesses in the NETDA.

UCSI University, ranked 347th in the world in 2021, is one of the leading universities in Malaysia.

It is said to have particular academic strengths in hotel management, tourism development, leisure management, petroleum engineering and other disciplines.

Moreover, it is widely viewed as having major academic strengths in electronics information, high-end intelligent manufacturing, medicine and health and in new energy, among other fields.
