Nantong development area lures projects with great services

The groundbreaking ceremony for a major lithium battery diaphragm production plant took place on Feb 8 in the Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area, or NETDA – located in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province.

The new plant's owner and operator is Shenzhen Senior Technology Material Co Ltd, a leading listed company operating in China's lithium battery diaphragm sector.

With a total investment of 10 billion yuan ($1.58 billion), the project is being divided into three phases and after the complex is completed it will generate annual revenue estimated at about 10 billion yuan.

Before finally choosing the NETDA to expand its businesses, the company negotiated with more than 10 other cities. The NETDA stood out for its impressive and considerate services, according to Liu Rui, director of operations.

After it signed off on the project on June 16 last year, the NETDA immediately set up a special team to help the company deal with the examination and approval procedures before it started construction.

As a result, work kicked off four months earlier than expected.

"Based on the construction process, the project will be able to start production in the fourth quarter of this year," Liu said.
