NETDA holds business symposium

The Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area, or NETDA – located in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – held a business symposium on Jan 26 to discuss the development plan for the new year.
The meeting invited 68 manufacturers that paid tax above 20 million yuan ($3.14 million) last year, as well as 18 service industry enterprises that paid above 15 million yuan in tax.
Zhang Jianhua, secretary of the Party working committee of the NETDA, gave a speech at the meeting and outlined five goals for its resident enterprises.
In addition, Bao Delin, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee, put forward four suggestions to boost development, including speeding up the construction of intelligent factories.
The NETDA also unveiled its economic performance in 2021. Its GDP reached 84.24 billion yuan, up 9 percent on the previous year, while the general public budget revenue was 6.7 billion yuan, an increase of 13.6 percent.
The value of imports and exports hit 57.4 billion yuan, an increase of 29.8 percent.
At the meeting, entrepreneurs from different companies reported on their business developments last year and proposed their targets for 2022.
