The Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area, or NETDA – located in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – recently launched an innovation and entrepreneurship competition, which will stage preliminary rounds in a succession of cities, before holding the finals back in the area.
The first preliminary round of the 4th NETDA Nengda Cup Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was recently held in the nearby city of Shanghai, according to local media reports on Sept 10.
Thirty projects related to electronics information, high-end equipment, and medicine and health industries will compete on a level playing field. The winners will reportedly get the chance of settling in the development zone and enjoying its preferential support policies.
The event is focusing on attracting top innovation and entrepreneurship resources and recruits with outstanding innovative and entrepreneurial capabilities.
The competition now moves on to be held in Beijing, Shenzhen and other first-tier innovation and entrepreneurship strongholds. The winning projects of each heat will then gather in Nantong city to compete in the finals of the innovation and entrepreneurship contest.
Zhang Jianhua, secretary of the Party working committee of the NETDA, said that the first round held in Shanghai was expected to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two cities. As a result, more gifted individuals from home and abroad would innovate and start up businesses and make outstanding achievements in the NETDA, he added.
