NETDA offers full support for sci-tech innovation firms
In the first half of the year, the Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area or NETDA – located in the city of Nantong, in East China's Jiangsu province – reportedly targeted the development of sci-tech innovation enterprises and achieved marked success in their commercialization, according to local media reports on Sept 11.
At the end of last year, the SIASUN robot project successfully settled in the development zone. During negotiations between the two sides, the NETDA reportedly quickly responded to SIASUN's requirements. It simplified the review process, guaranteeing that the facility would move into production and profitability as soon as possible.
SIASUN is a listed high-tech group which focuses on robotic technology and providing intelligent products and services. This year, the company invested 3 billion yuan ($4.66 billion) to build the SIASUN Nantong Smart Industrial Park in the NETDA. On completion, it will be the largest and most advanced robot manufacturing facility in China.
The SIASUN robot project has reportedly begun to take shape and the main structure is scheduled to be finished in October, while the entire plant is expected to start operations in June next year.
It is understood that currently there are two national-level, 101 provincial-level and 149 municipal-level sci-tech innovation enterprises located in the NETDA.
In the first half of the year, a group of 92 industry-university-research cooperation projects were launched in the development zone, up 84 percent year-on-year.
