NETDA launches smart traffic app
A heavy vehicle traffic management app – the Wanyuntong app – the first of its kind in regional traffic management apps in China, was officially launched in the Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area or NETDA on Aug 17, according to local media reports.
The user-friendly app that debuted in the NETDA – located in Nantong in East China's Jiangsu province – has eight functions, including online approvals for applications, hierarchical management, parking guidance and quick handling of accidents.
The Wanyuntong app sets up modules, such as big data mining and case backtracking. The platform also integrates and shares data with the traffic police, environmental protection institutions, as well as the traffic department and other departments.
Meanwhile, it will monitor heavy vehicle drivers so they abide by laws and will also ensure that transport enterprises fulfill their responsibilities for safety, so as to more effectively protect the lives of local residents in the development zone.
