Wang Huacheng, a director of a local charity institution in the Nantong Economic & Technological Development Area or NETDA, in East China's Jiangsu province, was recently added to the provincial roll of honor for people with outstanding merits, according to local media reports on Aug 15.
In a bid to help more children who need help in the NETDA, in September 2016, Wang led the establishment of a charity institution, which raised money through charity sales, funding and other forms. Under his influence, more and more people are joining in to help young students pursue their education dreams.
To date, more than 3,800 volunteers for the charity have come from China and abroad, including volunteers from eight countries. Over the past five years, more than 10 million yuan ($1.54 million) in funds and 3 million yuan worth of materials have been donated – going all over the country to such places as Qinghai and Shaanxi provinces – and more than 4,800 children have received warm-hearted greetings from the NETDA.
