NETDA calls for more development of comprehensive bonded zone

Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area (NETDA) held a meeting recently to discuss the development of the comprehensive bonded zone.

The import and export value in the comprehensive bonded zone reached 4.16 billion yuan ($644 million) from January to June, a year-on-year increase of 28 percent.

Among them, the import and export value of high and new technology amounted to 2.27 billion yuan, up 89.2 percent year-on-year.

The zone has achieved initial success in attracting capital investment. For example, a cold-chain logistics project worth 2 billion yuan has been launched in the zone.

In addition, China Cosco Shipping Co Ltd has built a logistics park in the zone, while logistics firm Cainiao has established an international work station.

The zone has introduced four projects in the fields of medicine and exhibitions, attracting an investment of about 2 billion yuan. It is expected that its annual tax revenue will increase by 100 million yuan and its annual import and export value will increase by 1 billion yuan.

Zhang praised the zone for the achievements that have been made in its comprehensive development and innovation.

He also stressed that the zone should improve its industrial structure and infrastructure, as well as provide more policy support for enterprises willing to invest there.
